Kunming North Bus Station (昆明北部汽车客运站) has the best transportation with the metro line 2 and many transit bus routes intersecting here.
As one of the busiest long distance bus stations in Kunming, it sends more than 600 buses per day with the ridership of approximate 10,000.
Buses from Kunming North Bus Station mainly go for northern Yunnan. Some of its destinations are listed below:
Fuyuan, Huize, Malong and Xuanwei in Qujing Prefecture.
Shuifu, Yongshan, Daguan, Ludian, Yanjin, Suijiang, Yiliang, Weixin, Qiaojia and Zhenxiong in Zhaotong Prefecture..
Xundian, Songming, Luquan and Dongchuan Red Land in Kunming City.
It also has inter-province bus routes for Anshun, Huangguoshu, Zunyi, Guiyang, Qianxinan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province, Laibin, Luzhou, Mianyang, Guang'an, Jianwei, Zigong, Yibin in Sichuan Province and Tongliang, Tongnan and etc in Chongqing City.
Comparing to other bus terminals, Kunming North Bus Station is kept quite clean and tidy.
It's reported that there are quite many people peddling their illegal passenger transportation service near the entrance of Kunming North Bus Station. Please don't follow them, you should purchase tickets from the ticket window and enter the bus station to take your bus.

Kunming North Bus Station doesn't sell online tickets to people using passports and international travelers should go directly to the ticket window to purchase your tickets. To do so, you should submit your passport to the ticket seller. Since ticket sellers there don't speak English, it's better if you can write your booking details on a paper note and submit it to purchase ticket.
